There’s a small fishing village called Whitstable off the coast of Kent in Southeastern England. It’s a town known for its delicious oysters, which have been collected in the area since at least the Roman times. It is a very popular tourist town and the tourism is about to explode now that these images of a giant crab sighting have surfaced. Many people say that it is a giant crab with a diameter of at least 50′ while others speculate that it’s just an oddly shaped sand bar and some sunken driftwood
The aerial images show the outline of what looks like an edible crab just on the edge of Kent Harbor. These edible crabs range anywhere from 5 to 10 inches wide in this part of the world, nothing even close to the crab in this picture circled above. The photo was added to the website Weird Whitsable, which is an online collection of odd sightings around the town.
There have been tales of a giant crab sighting in the area that date back hundreds of years. People have reported many sightings of something enormous that resembles a giant crab for centuries with no proof. Many fisherman have stated that something has risen from the sand below the harbor for years.
The largest known species of crab is the Japanese Spider Crab, which can grow up to 12 feet in diameter, nothing compared to this giant crab. Nobody has proven or disproved this crab but some say it’s just a playful hoax.
