AUTHORITIES CAPTURE ‘ALIEN-LIKE’ CREATURE, STUNNED WHEN THEY REALIZE WHAT IT IS…

“The bear is in a good and safe place,” said Nickson Robi, from the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), according to The Dodo. “She has eaten the food and drank the water we gave. But she still is hairless and sick, and we need to find out what the sickness is.”

The bear was rescued two months after it was found by some plantation workers in Sibu in Borneo, Malaysia. The workers were reportedly terrified of the creature and hit her with sticks to drive her back into the forest. The video of her fleeing has been viewed around 5 million times.

While social media circuits in Malaysia were convinced that it was an alien, authorities say it’s actually a sick sun bear, which is an endangered and protected species. The poor little bear was reportedly terrified and aggressive when she was found, but is now getting the care she needs.

“I just took the bear to our wildlife center here,” said Robi. “A veterinarian there will check up on everything to find what medication should be given to the bear. We are hoping that the bear will recover quickly, so we can put her back to the wild.”
